MCP is easy to describe and easy to get wrong. This course builds one server, RepoPilot, and adds one idea per part so you see why each design choice exists.

What you build#

RepoPilot lets an AI app read a git repository: history, diffs, code search, TODOs, files and review prompts. By the last part it has tests, a security sandbox, authentication and an npm package.

How each part works#

A short concept video explains the idea with drawings. A hands-on video builds that part live. The written version of each part appears on this site as it goes live, with the code you can copy.

Frequently asked questions

What do I need to take the MCP in Depth course?

Comfortable TypeScript, Node.js 20 or newer and a terminal. No prior MCP or AI-API experience is required; part 1 starts from zero.

Which language does the course use?

TypeScript, with the official MCP TypeScript SDK, zod for schemas and tsx to run files. Every part is one tested state of the same project.

What is RepoPilot?

The running project of the course: an MCP server that lets an AI app understand and work on a git repository. You extend it in every part.
